At RCOG IRC Bangladesh, our mission is to strengthen women’s health and reproductive care in Bangladesh by advancing
postgraduate education, training, research, and policy.
Sustainable goals to advance women’s health and reproductive rights through education, training, research, advocacy, and
collaboration.
The International Representative Committee (IRC) in Bangladesh plays a crucial role in advancing the College’s mission to enhance the health and well-being of women and girls worldwide.
Representing RCOG in Bangladesh, the IRC is dedicated to supporting our growing community of 65 members, and I am thrilled to see this number continue to rise.
A heartfelt thank you to all our Bangladeshi Fellows and Members who, in addition to their professional roles, generously volunteer as examiners, organisers, course faculty, and advocates for the benefits of RCOG membership in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Your expertise, dedication, and hard work are vital to our success, and we could not achieve what we have without your unwavering support.
At RCOG IRC Bangladesh, we are dedicated to advancing women’s health through collaboration, innovation, and advocacy. Our mission is to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care — particularly in low-resource settings.
We strongly emphasize continuing professional development (CPD) for doctors, nurses, midwives, and medical officers. Through world-class training programs and adaptable learning materials, we aim to build confidence, enhance skills, and strengthen clinical capacity across all levels of care.
Partnership is at the core of what we do. By working alongside local organisations, NGOs, national O&G societies, and government bodies, we identify community needs and deliver impactful initiatives that improve outcomes for women and families. Together, we promote excellence and best practices in sexual, reproductive, and gynaecological health.
We also believe that sustainable progress demands strong advocacy. Through collaboration with civil society networks and global health partners, we actively contribute to shaping policies that prioritise women’s health and wellbeing — ensuring that every woman, everywhere, has access to the quality care she deserves.
This is a huge honour, and with that, comes a huge responsibility, to serve the Members and Fellows of this College, and to improve women’s health and maternity care in the UK and around the world. I take the responsibility very seriously, and look forward to rising to the challenge.
I would like to congratulate the RCOG IRC Bangladesh team for launching the educational website. There small steps of independence and empowering women of Bangladesh to the modern era of innovation. Wishing their journey will place women with proper care and dignity.
